Do you enjoy taking photographs but find the world of digital imaging a challenge?

Would you like to take advantage of the many new and powerful features only realized through digital photography?

In An Introduction to Digital Photography you will learn :

  • the basics of image exposure
  • about the key differences between digital and film photography;
  • how a digital sensor creates images;
  • how to manage and organize your image files;
  • the fundamental digital controls, including histograms, white balance, contrast, and sharpening;
  • to create eye catching compositions;
  • how and when to use your flash; and
  • the basics of image editing

The course includes 6 2-hour sessions as well as a field trip, for a total of 16 course-hours of instruction. Weekly voluntary assignments are given and shared with the class at the start of each session.

Participants should :

  • own a digital camera;
  • be familiar with transfering images from their camera to their computer;
  • must have internet access and be comfortable working in a PC or Mac environment;
  • have Adobe Acrobat Reader V.6.0 (or later) installed on their computer;
